Dr. Santina Wheat is the Program Director for the McGaw Northwestern Family Medicine Residency at Delnor. As an Associate Professor and the Vice Chair of Health Equity in the Department of Family and Community Medicine, she integrates academic rigor with a deep-seated commitment to social justice.
With a medical degree and MPH from the University of Illinois, Dr. Wheat has dedicated her career to full-scope primary care. Her expertise includes managing complex chronic conditions such as HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C, having previously served as Medical Director for the Lending Hands for Life Program at Erie.
Beyond clinical excellence, Dr. Wheat is a champion for the future of the medical profession. Her work focuses on developing leadership, advocacy, and wellbeing skills within learners to ensure physicians possess the tools for meaningful, impactful, and sustainable careers in an evolving healthcare landscape.
