Dr. Shariq Refai is a board-certified psychiatrist, visionary entrepreneur, and leader in scalable virtual mental health care. As the Founder and Medical Director of shrinkMD, a national telepsychiatry platform, he is dedicated to delivering accessible, evidence-based psychiatric care for adults across multiple states. Dr. Refai distinguishes his practice through his dual credentials, holding both his medical degree and an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, which merges deep clinical knowledge with strategic operational leadership.

A dedicated clinician, Dr. Refai is recognized as a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (FAPA). He completed comprehensive psychiatric training at the University of Hawaii and JPS Health Network, following his MD earned at St. George’s University School of Medicine. His clinical expertise spans general adult psychiatry, sports psychiatry, and performance mental health, including specialized consultation work with professional organizations and athletes, such as those in the NFL.
